Reels are short, vertical, and easy to lose. Cromoteca saves the ones you are entitled to keep as ordinary MP4 files, ready to drop into an edit or a mood board.
Output
Reels save as MP4 at the resolution Instagram served, typically 1080×1920 vertical. The file is a normal video — no watermark is added by Cromoteca, and any watermark already burned into the source by the platform or creator stays part of the picture, because removing it would mean altering someone else's work.
Vertical reference, kept usable
Because Reels are almost always 9:16, they need reframing for most other formats. Cromoteca's Ratio tool reads a file's real dimensions and works out the crop maths for 16:9, 4:5, 1:1 or any other target, so you are not guessing at numbers.
Limitations
Cromoteca reaches only what your own signed-in session can already see, and only what you are authorised to save. It does not bypass privacy settings, and it does not work around access controls. Instagram changes its delivery often; when a Reel cannot be fetched, Cromoteca tells you why rather than failing quietly.

Does Cromoteca remove the Instagram watermark?
No. Cromoteca does not alter the picture. A watermark burned into the video by the platform or the creator remains part of the file.
What resolution do Reels download at?
Whatever Instagram served, most commonly 1080 by 1920. Cromoteca does not upscale, so the file matches the source.
Can I download someone else's Reel and post it as my own?
No, and you should not. Downloads are for personal archival, reference, or inspiration. Reposting someone else's work without permission infringes their rights and breaches Instagram's terms.
