How the workflow works
Add the episode links
Paste the episode URLs — or a batch of them — into Cromoteca. Each one is detected and queued for download.
Download the audio
Pull each episode to a research folder at the best available audio quality, so the recording is clean enough to transcribe well.
Transcribe locally
Run on-device transcription to convert each episode into text. The audio stays on your Mac throughout.
Build a searchable research set
Keep transcripts beside their audio, named by show and episode, so you can search across an entire series for a theme or quote.
FAQ
Can I transcribe a whole series at once?
Queue multiple episodes to download, then transcribe them. Each episode produces its own text file you can store next to the audio.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Transcription runs locally on your Mac, so episodes are not uploaded for processing.
Am I allowed to save podcast episodes?
Save episodes you own, created, licensed, or are authorized to archive — for personal research within the show's terms. Cromoteca does not bypass paywalls or DRM.
