Why it sounds better than a converter

Most web converters re-encode audio at a fixed, often low bitrate. Cromoteca takes the original track and, when the format allows, copies it as-is. What you get is the audio the platform actually served, not a lossy copy of a lossy copy.

Transcription

Audio can be transcribed on your own machine, so interviews and talks become searchable text. Nothing is uploaded to a transcription service — the model runs locally.

Limitations

Cromoteca does not bypass sign-in walls, paywalls, or DRM, and it cannot save content you are not authorised to save. Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality: clear speech transcribes well, while heavy accents, overlapping voices, and music are less reliable.
